The game still has bugs to be ironed out for sure but its still the fun game that it has always been its definitly worth checking out and at least keeping an eye on for when they fix the bugs.. literally unplayable. I stayed at the loading of a match for 10 minutes and never loaded. I loved this game when it was on browser, I'll just wait until they make it playable. I dont understand how companies take years to release a game and then they release it full of bugs and issues. This didnt happen back in the 90's. Great game. It might be challenging for new players to dig in since there is a lot to learn. Even if you learn how this game, it takes time to win match vs other player. I've been playing this game for years with few breakes. If you are patient and like to be rewarded, this game is for you :). Great game has some issues but atlest the mechanics are solid and while the steam launch was rocky as alll get out the dev team has been working on it like crazy i waited untill the bulk of the issues were fixed to revew and in its curent state i can happly recomend this game its been a long time coming.. I played this ages back when it was just Alteil on browser, and before its reboot to Alteil Horizons. So when I saw it on steam, I got it again and was looking forward to playing. I even contacted support about my old decks on old accounts. And full props to them, they reset passwords to my email and I got my old cards back next day. So top notch support.But unfortunately, thats where things grind to a halt. I run an i7 windows 10 and haven't any problems running any game I've got so far. So it came as quite a surprise how bad this card game runs. Actually, barely runs. As I said, I've played this before, but years ago. So I went to the tutorial to get a refresher. Didn't acually explain much and it soon crashed. So I said "Fine, i'll relearn playing NPCs" So I went to arena's to duel NPCs. I haven't managed to load into a game yet. Been trying on and off for a few days now and haven't managed to start a game so far. I actually have it in the background running now hopeing to load in. And in this time, I have gone and read the current 56 reviews of this product. And then had time to write this review myself. And still not gotten in.Maybe I'll just try and challenge a player (despite barely remembering how to play or what my deck is set to do) and it may run then. Cause otherwise the only play I have got from this game so far is the single player missions. I've done 2 which ran fine but they came with set decks rather than using my own, so didn't really help me with learning my game or deck. A story mode with set goals and actions rather than normal game mechanics. But overall, this was a great disappointment. I'd like to say I recommend this game, but I just can't in it's current state. The fact that I also have to use windows task manager to fully close this game says something. It is free, so you can just get it and try to see if it runs for you but there are many better card games around, even free ones.. As a returning player to this game and someone who spent atleast $300 on it in the past, I can't reccomend this game to anyone. Don't get me wrong, it is a very in depth CCG worthy of awards, but it is wraught with flaws, bugs, and lag. The game itself is amazing, I've never seen so many moves or tactics available in a game, and there are so many cards you will hardly see the same deck twice. Everyone's problems with the tutorials IMO seems to be from lack of details or understanding the game high learning curve. It took me about 20mins just to finish part 1 because the game moves at a snails pace. I thought the game crashed several times after 3min+ wait times for screen changes. I would click off the game to reload it but nope... it keeps telling me I'm still logged in and I have to wait more than 30mins for that message to go away, or log out of my Laptop User Account to reset it(along with everything else I had open). When it does manage to actually load you are visited by at most 5 people playing the game, and are very experienced to the point that you cant even play a real battle. The battles themself are horribly laggy and can take a few mins for a single turn. This game(the Horizons version) is just a clone of the original game with a different background, it was Kickstarter funded almost 6 years ago yet was released 1 year ago. This game will very unlikely ever recieve a bugs patch or actually work like a normal game. Combined with its high price tag for cards and learning curve, with lack of players; I cannot reccomend this.
